Gemrit was once known as Sebastian Emma, a student looking to become a laywer. On a routine trip down a highway into the city; he collided head on with a truck that had swerved to avoid a bird, and the resulting accident killed him.
His soul bleeding into the ether of Death, Kotamayu appeared, and saved his soul from becoming a shadow.

Blessing Gemrit with the Scythe of Darkness and the Bell of Kings; Kotamayu personally trained Gemrit for 200 years, battling on ice meteors as they raced across space.
Because of this intense training, Gemrit is the most powerful fighter of all the Reaped, and acts as both a bodyguard to his master, and a terrible warlord.

With the inevitable decay into Death, Gemrit is the most lacking in personality of all the Reaped; and many of them are uncomfortable in his presence. Afterall, he is the only one amongst them who had actually died. He exudes the very aura of extinction, and any mortal man would shudder just to look upon him.

One exception though, is the cellphone that hangs from his waist. The vessel created by his soul's eye retained this machine; and with it the hopes of a message from his love, Vanessa. Should it ever ring, the love buried in his dead heart would surely answer the call.
